ICC World Cup 2011: Australia have been given the green light to include Callum Ferguson and Jason Krejza in their World Cup squad as replacements for injured duo Mike Hussey and Nathan Hauritz.

Australia have been given the green light to include Callum Ferguson and Jason Krejza in their World Cup squad as replacements for injured duo Mike Hussey and Nathan Hauritz.

Spinner Hauritz dislocated a shoulder and middle-order batsman Hussey suffered a hamstring injury during the seven-match one-day series against England, and both were subsequently ruled out of the tournament.

Krejza made his one-day debut in Sunday's win over England in Perth, while the absence of Shaun Marsh means Ferguson has got the nod to replace Hussey and add to his 28 one-day international caps.

Commenting on the changes, chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch said: "During the Commonwealth Bank Series we had a number of injuries to prominent players in our World Cup squad.

"Specifically, both Mike Hussey and Nathan Hauritz suffered significant injuries, both of which necessitated surgery.

"The national selection panel has received a full briefing from Cricket Australia medical staff. Based on the medical advice an application (was) made to the ICC to replace both players in the World Cup squad."

There is better news for captain Ricky Ponting, though, with physio Alex Kountouris confirming his broken finger is healing according to schedule, while Brad Haddin (knee) and Steve Smith (groin) are both expected to recover in time.
